LINCOLN, Maine — A local man hit two men and bit a woman’s leg during scuffles on Dec. 24 at a Main Street apartment complex, police said Monday.
John Trott, 38, of Lincoln was charged on Dec. 24 with disorderly conduct and three counts of Class D assault.
Police said that the incident was reported at 12:19 a.m. Dec. 24 when Lincoln police Officer Joshua McKechnie was dispatched to Bailey Circle Apartments for a report of 10 people fighting. When McKechnie and state police Trooper Larry Anderson arrived a few minutes later, they reported five people engaged in an argument, said Detective Mark Fucile, Lincoln Police Department spokesman.
Trott immediately confronted the two officers, allegedly saying he would fight anyone there despite having a broken wrist. Witnesses told McKechnie that they saw Trott fighting with another man who reacted when Trott shoved a resident, Fucile said.
Witnesses told McKechnie that a second man then jumped into the fight with Trott, Fucile said. A woman also showed what looked like bite marks on her leg and said that Trott bit her, Fucile said.
Trott was released after being taken to Penobscot Valley Hospital of Lincoln for evaluation and posting bail.
He is due in Lincoln District Court on Feb. 2, Fucile said.
