PORTLAND, Maine — Jordan Mickey registered a triple-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots to lead the Maine Red Claws to a 119-112 NBA D-League victory over the Texas Legends at the Portland Expo on Thursday afternoon.
R.J. Hunter, also on assignment from the Boston Celtics, finished with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in his Red Claws debut. Terry Rozier added 15 points and 13 assists.
Maine (10-6) buckled down in the final quarter, outscoring Texas 34-25 to close out the victory.
Manny Harris tried to put the Legends on his back, scoring 18 in the quarter, but Hunter’s 13 and Clarke’s 12 points in the quarter were enough of a boost to pull away.
The Red Claws were led by Hunter (28 points, seven assists, five rebounds), while also getting 24 points and seven rebounds from Clarke and 23 points from Johnson, who also had seven rebounds. Rounding out the
Tu Holloway contributed a double-double with 25 points and 11 assists to pace Texas (7-8), which also got solid scoring efforts from Toure Murry (17 points, five rebounds), Michael Eric (11 points, nine rebounds) and Brandon Ashley (11 points).
The Red Claws will host the defending champion Santa Cruz Warriors on Saturday at 7 p.m.
