FARMINGTON, Maine — Police have tentatively identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run crash on Wilton Road early New Year’s Day as 21-year-old Taylor Gaboury of Wilton, police said Saturday.
Gaboury was identified by her tattoos in the aftermath of the crash that occurred at 1:40 a.m. near Franklin Memorial Hospital, because she was not carrying identification or a cellphone, Farmington police Chief Jack Peck said.
The identification occurred after Gaboury’s parents reported she was missing, Peck said.
Tommy Clark, 25, of Industry drove away from the scene and was charged with aggravated operating under the influence after police found his vehicle at a nearby motel and arrested him.
Clark was taken to Franklin County Jail, where he remained held Friday night with a $75,000 cash bail. Additional charges are likely, officials said.
The woman was walking east on Wilton Road, also known as
Route 2, when she was struck.
Anyone with information about the fatal crash is urged to contact Farmington police at 778-6311.
