SACO, Maine — The search for James E. Dyer, who was last seen early Friday morning in the Old Port, will be turned over to the Saco police’s criminal investigation division Monday.
Saco Sgt. Chris Hardiman said Sunday morning that Dyer, 23, was last seen leaving the Pearl Night Club in Portland at 3 a.m. Friday and has not made contact with his family.
Hardiman said police have received tips on alleged sightings of Dyer from Wells to Auburn.
Dyer is white, 5-foot-9, weighs 150 pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red flannel shirt, tan khaki pants and L.L. Bean boots.
“[He and his friends] were walking towards the car and there was quite a group of people and his friend turned around and he was just missing,” Amy Dyer, his mother, said, “he just disappeared.”
Dyer said she knew something was wrong when she didn’t hear from her son.
“It’s not like him to do this,” she said. “He’s constantly in contact with all of us. He never misses work.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Saco police at 284-4535.
