ROCKLAND, Maine — City Hall will open two hours late on three different mornings beginning later this month to allow for customer service training.

City Hall will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21; Tuesday, Feb. 2; and Thursday, Feb. 18.

The city also had planned on having a late opening on Tuesday, Jan. 5, but canceled that session on Monday.

City Manager James Chaousis said human resources consultant Laurie Bouchard will be conducting the training sessions.

All city employees who have offices in City Hall and direct interaction with the public will participate, the city manager said.

“Some people have very little engagement with their local government. They may physically come to the office once a year or once in a lifetime,” Chaousis said. “City staff will work toward making sure their experience with their local government is positive and valuable.”
