FARMINGTON, Maine — The University of Maine-Farmington scored 23 points as a result of 20 Thomas turnovers on Tuesday night on the way to a 76-66 North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball victory.
Anfernee Dent led a group of four players in double figures for the University of Maine-Farmington (1-9, 1-3 NAC). Nick Hilton posted 15 points, Sean Murphy notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Logan Nichols added 10 points.
Mike Akanji tossed in a game-high 21 points for Thomas College of Waterville (5-6, 1-3 NAC). Levi Barnes and Dayne Savage contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Rochester 70, UMFK 61
At Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Rochester outrebounded UMaine-Fort Kent 26-12 in the second half when they wore down the Bengals to notch the win.
Angelo Griffis paced Rochester with 18 points while Milton Cribbs and Jaylen Larry each added 12.
Joe McCloskey scored 18 points to lead UMFK and Jake Rioux hit four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points. Qaadir Ali added 10 points.
Colby 115, Pine Manor 97
At Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Pat Dickert and Patrick Stewart each scored 23 points to power the Mules to their 10th consecutive victory.
Dickert was 10-for-11 from the field while Stewart, who went 7-for-10, added a game-high 11 rebounds.
Ryan Jann provided 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Chris Hudnut finished with 14 points and eight boards, and John Gallego added eight points and five assists for 10-1 Colby College of Waterville.
Pine Manor had six players in double figures, paced by Tank Roberson with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.
Women’s Basketball
Manhattanville 59, MMA 53
At Purchase, New York, Manhattanville took advantage of 11 Maine Maritime Academy turnovers in the fourth quarter and scored four points in the final 26 seconds to hold off the Mariners for the victory.
Bri Pabon paced the Valiants (9-3) with 15 points, six assists and seven steals while Ashley Raaf chipped in with 12 points.
Alayne Felix paced MMA (5-5) with 17 points and seven rebounds. Kristi Willey added eight points and Maggie McConkey notched five assists.
UMF 72, Thomas 46
At Farmington, Meghan Smith recorded 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to a North Atlantic Conference win.
Jenessa Talarico chipped in with 13 points for UMF (4-5 overall, 3-1 NAC) and Kennadi Grover added 11 points and five rebounds.
Katie McAllister paced Thomas of Waterville (2-8, 1-3) with 18 points and six rebounds while Jordan Agger-Barnes added 10 points.
