BANGOR, Maine — City water officials spent much of Wednesday night and Thursday morning rectifying a water main break on Pleasant View Street.

Bangor Water District Manager Kathy Moriarty said the break occurred about 6 p.m. Wednesday, and several streets in Bangor’s Little City neighborhood were affected.

About 70 homes on Pleasant View Street, Nowell Road, Clyde Road, Poplar Street and Lyndon Street were affected.

Moriarty said aging infrastructure was the cause of the break, and the 76-year-old pipe has been replaced.

She added crews are expected to finish work by late Thursday morning and all customers would have their water service back.
