— Jan. 26, Fryeburg — Jody Buzzell, 52, was shot and killed by her husband, Mark Buzzell, 52, who then took his own life.

— March 1, Houlton — Keith Suitter, 61, was beaten and stabbed inside his home. Reginald Dobbins, 18, and Samuel Geary, 16, were arrested on March 6 and charged with murder.

— March 7, Troy — Steven Hodgdon, 49, was stabbed inside his home. His son, Colby Hodgdon, 16, was charged with murder.

— May 12, Parkman — David Grant, 61, was shot to death outside his home. His son, Zachary Grant, 38, of Abbot shot himself but survived, and he was charged with murder on May 27 after being released from the hospital.

— May 25, Portland — Treyjon Arsenault, 19, was shot to death inside an Old Port recording studio, and Mohamed Ali was injured by gunfire. Two men, Johnney Ouch, 20, of Saco and Gang Deng Majok, 30, of Westbrook, were arrested in July. Portland police are still investigating.

— June 5, Parkman — Stephanie Ginn Gebo, 39, was shot to death inside her home. Her ex-boyfriend Robert Burton, 39, was charged with murder. He fled into the woods and was the subject of the longest manhunt in modern state history, which ended on Aug. 11 when he surrendered at Piscataquis County Jail.

— July 4, Boothbay Harbor — Carol Jorgensen, 75, and her son, Eric Jorgensen, 40, were shot to death inside their two separate homes. Her husband and his father, Svend Jorgensen, 71, then shot and killed himself.

— July 17, Benedicta and Lee — Kyle Hewitt, 20, was shot to death inside a home in Benedicta, and Lee Tozier, 58, was shot to death at a woodlot in Lee in a shooting rampage that ended in Aroostook County with three others injured by gunshots. Anthony Lord, 35, was charged with two counts of murder. Lord admitted to committing the crimes, according to the affidavit.

— Aug. 9, Lebanon — Thomas Tiernan, 19, was shot and killed inside his house. His brother, James Tiernan, 20, was indicted for manslaughter in December, McCausland said.

— Aug. 9, Portland — Freddy Akoa, 48, was beaten to death inside his Cumberland Avenue apartment. Several days later, three men were charged with his murder: Abil Teshome, 23, Mohamud Mohamed, 36, and Osman Sheikh, 31. Portland police are still investigating.

— Aug. 19, Saco — Wendy Boudreau, 59, was stabbed to death inside Shaw’s Supermarket. Connor MacCalister, 31, was charged with murder, pleaded guilty to the charge on Oct. 8 and was sentenced to life in prison.

— Sept. 10, Eastport — Maurice “Allen” Harris, 75, was assaulted and died at his home. A friend, Hazen McDugald, 39, of Eastport was arrested on Sept. 17, charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one charge of violating bail and was later indicted for manslaughter, McCausland said.

— Sept. 24, Caribou — Kenneth Zernicke, 58, was found dead inside his house. Maine State Police continue to investigate.

— Oct. 26, Gray — Leo Josephs, 3 months old, died from multiple injuries. His father, Eugene Martineau, 24, of Standish was charged with murder and manslaughter.

— Nov. 4, Oakland — Amy Derosby, 28, Amanda Bragg, 30, and Michael Muzerolle, 29 were shot to death inside their apartment house by Herman Derico, 42, who then shot and killed himself.

— Nov. 16, Bath — Chelsea Jones, 22, was shot in the head while sitting in a car in a shopping center parking lot and later died. She was shot by her boyfriend, Dylan Grubbs, 23, who was showing the handgun to a prospective buyer outside the vehicle when he reportedly accidentally fired the gun. Maine State Police continue to investigate.

— Nov. 23, Augusta — Joseph Marceau, 31, was killed inside the apartment of a friend. Damik Davis, 25, of New York City was charged with murder.

— Nov. 27, Bangor — Robert Mark Kennedy, 38, of Bangor was shot to death at an apartment house on Center Street. Robert Hansley, 27, and Thomas Ferguson, 37, both of Brooklyn, New York, were arrested the same night and charged with murder and elevated aggravated assault. Bangor police are investigating, McCausland said.

— Dec. 25, Manchester — Eric Williams, 35, and Bonnie Royer, 26, were shot to death inside a vehicle off Sanford Road on Christmas Day. David W. Marble Jr., 29, of Rochester, New York, was charged with two counts of murder.
