WINDHAM, Maine — Two pedestrians were hurt in a crash on River Road in Windham.

Windham police said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, when an elderly couple was crossing the road to attend a service at the Dolby Funeral Chapel. Police said that’s when a 33-year-old driver hit them.

Windham police said both pedestrians, who are in their 70s, were brought to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police said the accident is under investigation and that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
