FAIRFIELD, Maine — State police are investigating the discovery of remains found at a town home on Monday afternoon, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.
The spokesman said the remains appear to be the result of a recent pregnancy.
Police were called to a mobile home on Norridgewock Road on Sunday and the remains were found in an adjacent garage, McCausland said.
The remains were taken to the medical examiner’s office in Augusta. Detectives are hopeful the pending results can give them some leads in the investigation.
No charges have been filed.
