FG pct.), 5-7 G Melissa Frase (6.9 ppg, 2.6 apg)
Game notes: The Black Bears look to make it 13 straight home victories when they take on the River Hawks. UMaine is coming off Saturday’s 65-55 win over UMBC during which Swan provided a spark despite the team’s spotty offensive efforts. UMass Lowell has dropped four in a row, including Saturday’s 64-50 home loss to Stony Brook. The River Hawks have surrendered a league-high 72.9 ppg, while the Black Bears’ 52.1 ppg allowed lead America East. UMaine looks to cash in on transition chances against an opponent that’s averaging a league-worst 19.5 turnovers. However, UML is the top 3-point shooting team at 32 percent.

MAINE vs. UMASS LOWELL
Time, site: Wednesday, 11 a.m., Costello Athletic Center, Lowell, Massachusetts
Records: Maine 4-11 (0-2 America East), UMass Lowell 5-10 (1-1)
Series, last meeting: UML leads 4-0, UML 82-71 on 2/28/15
Key players: Maine — 5-10 G Kevin Little (14.1 points per game, 2.7 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game), 6-7 F Devine Eke (10.3 ppg, 7.1 rebounds per game, .654 FG pct.), 6-8 F Till Gloger (9.0 ppg), 5-11 G Aaron Calixte (8.0 ppg, 2.9 apg), 6-2 G Lavar Harewood (7.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, .444 3-pt. FG pct.), 6-5 G Shaun Lawton (6.9 ppg, 1.4 spg); UML — 6-2 G/F Jahad Thomas (12.2 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 3.7 apg), 6-0 G Isaac White (10.5 ppg, 2.5 apg, 3.0 spg), 6-1 G Matt Harris (8.9 ppg), 6-6 F Tyler Livingston (8.9 ppg), 6-7 G/F Josh Gantz (7.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg)
Game notes: The Black Bears are out to stop a two-game skid after Saturday’s 89-76 loss at UMBC, when they were without Little (bruised tailbone). The River Hawks lost 86-59 at Stony Brook on Saturday after snapping a five-game losing streak with an 80-76 win at Hartford on Jan. 6. This could be a high-scoring affair between two guard-oriented ballclubs that rank eighth and ninth in AE scoring defense and FG percentage defense. UMaine is still without freshman forward Issac Vann and junior swingman Garet Beal because of ankle ailments. The morning tipoff is part of a UML sports forum. Keys for the Bears will include keeping turnovers in check, transition defense and exploiting Gloger’s offensive prowess.
