HARPSWELL, Maine — No injuries were reported in an crash involving a school bus and a vehicle Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The Mt. Ararat High School bus driven by Yvonne Elwell, 54, of Topsham was making a left turn from Harpswell Islands Road onto Cundy’s Harbor Road when it was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by Rebecca Nichols, 52, of Harpswell, according to a statement from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The statement said Nichols drifted across the centerline and struck the bus just behind the driver’s area. There were 15 students on the bus, and none of them were hurt.

No charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation. Both vehicles had minimal damage.
