TROY, Maine — A local woman accused of punching and choking another woman Wednesday night has been charged with aggravated assault.
Police said Robin Randall, 53, came to the attention of authorities at 8:18 p.m., when they received a report of an assault at the woman’s Bagley Hill Road home, according to a news release issued Friday morning by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Jon Shaw and Sgt. Jim Greeley responded to the home and spoke with the alleged victim, who told them she and Randall had gotten in an argument. The woman told police Randall became upset with her and started to drag her by her hair and punch her. She also said Randall used her hands to choke her during the assault, according to Sheriff Jeff Trafton.
Deputies interviewed people and gathered evidence in the case, which resulted in Randall being arrested and charged with aggravated assault and violation of conditions of release from a pending Hancock County charge. She was taken to the Waldo County Correctional Center, where she was held without bail.
