AUGUSTA, Maine — A local man and woman have been formally charged with murder in connection with the death of a man inside their apartment last fall, state police said.
Zina Fritze, 27, and her boyfriend, Michael Sean McQuade, 45, were indicted last week by the Kennebec County grand jury, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
The pair also was charged with robbery.
Joseph Marceau’s body was found on Nov. 23, 2015, in the fourth-floor apartment. Police are calling the death a drug-related homicide, McCausland said.
Fritze and McQuade had been arrested by Augusta police on unrelated charges on Friday and are being held at the Kennebec County Jail. They are expected to make their first court appearance Tuesday morning.
Another man, Damik Davis, 25, of Queens, New York, was arrested the day of the homicide and charged with murder. He remains in county lockup.
