PORTLAND, Maine — The average price of regular gasoline dipped another 5 cents in the past week, landing at a statewide average of $1.92 per gallon.

Price tracking site GasBuddy.com reported the state average was 10 cents higher than the national average, which also fell more than 6 cents in the past week to $1.82 per gallon.

The United States has more gasoline in storage than any point since 1990, according to GasBuddy analyst Will Speer.

“Ample supply has been attributed as the cause of prices falling at the pump,” Speer said.

GasBuddy reported that the average price of gasoline was down below $2 in each of Maine’s counties, except for Sagadahoc County that had an average pump price of $2.02 Monday.

The average price from crowdsourced reports in Penobscot County was $1.89 per gallon Monday, near the lowest county average in the state.

New Hampshire had a slightly lower average, at $1.86 per gallon, and Vermont a slightly higher average, at $2.
