ROCKLAND, Maine — A trio of southern Maine men were indicted this week on multiple charges in connection with a series of nighttime burglaries last year at local businesses.

Taylor C. Schultz, 35, of Biddeford; Charles York, 39, of Portland; and Michael J. Warner II, 37, of Portland were each indicted on four counts of burglary, four counts of theft and four counts of criminal mischief.

The charges were connected to burglaries at J.C. Penney in Rockland on Sept. 3 in which more than $10,000 worth of merchandise was reported stolen, Townline Video Plus in Warren on Aug. 24 in which more than $10,000 in goods were reportedly taken; Flagship Cinema in Thomaston on Aug. 31 in which more than $1,000 was taken; and Lincoln Country Store in Warren on May 24 where more than $1,000 was stolen.

The three men had been arrested in September after police said they suspected them of committing at least 25 similar burglaries in southern and central Maine last year.

The trio were among 16 people indicted by the Knox County Grand Jury that met for two days this week, concluding on Thursday.

Also indicted were:

Anthony M. Kaler, 43, South Thomaston, attempted gross sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass connected to an incident on Jan. 7 in Rockland; and aggravated criminal mischief, assault, refusing to submit to arrest, criminal threatening, and terrorizing connected to an incident on Jan. 8 in South Thomaston.

Anthony M. Griffin, 22, Maine State Prison in Warren, assault on an officer on April 20.

Michael Steven Turner, 28, Maine State Prison, assault on an officer on March 16; aggravated assault, assault on an officer on Aug. 20 that caused serious bodily injury.

Paul Joseph Schlosser, 30, Maine State Prison, assault on an officer on April 21.

Kurtis Rome-Bertrand, 21, Rockland, theft of lottery tickets and money.

Suzanne M. Gardner, 49, Rockland, failure to report to jail, violating condition of release.

Teresa L. Thomas, 45, Augusta, failure to report to jail.

Ralene Grant, 29, Rockland, theft.

Todd Avery, 40, Warren, negotiating a worthless instrument.

Robert A. Rein, 57, Rockland, violation of sex offender registration, violation of condition of release.

Joseph R. Dinapoli, 27, Cushing, two counts of driving to endanger, criminal speeding.
