BANGOR – James E. Gierhan, 61, died Feb. 14, 2016, at a local nursing home. He was born in Lincoln, Neb., June 8, 1954, the son of Marvin and Frances (Berry) Gierhan.
James attended Bangor schools. He loved anything on wheels and going fast from his first mini-bike, go-carts, cars and trucks to his Harleys. James had many friends in every town and was always the center of the party, generously taking care of all he met. He loved the Blues and Monday nights at the Time Out Pub in Rockland with his extended family. He was a member of the Maine Blues Society and the United Bikers of Maine. We would like to thank the Seracens and all his friends in the Biking community for their support.
He is survived by his mother of Bangor; one brother, Bill of Auburn; one sister, Mary of Wilton; stepdaughter, Carrie; stepgranddaughter, Emilie; nephews, Derek and Ian; and two great-nephews, Leo and Oliver. Many thanks to the Staff at Orono Commons and Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion.
Friends may call at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor, 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 289 State St., Suite B, Bangor, ME 04401.
