BANGOR – BANGOR, ME – David George Leavitt, 69, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2016, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. David was born on October 2, 1946 in Bangor, the son of Stedman and Florence (Davis) Leavitt. David spent many years working at Agway in Presque Isle and then operated Still Buzzy’s in Presque Isle with his wife Sharon and then the The Garden Café on Exchange Street in Bangor. David enjoyed cooking and was known by many for his delicious food.
David was predeceased by his parents and his brother Charles.
David is survived by his loving wife of 34 blissful years of marriage, Sharon (Beaulieu) Leavitt who often referred to David as the “most perfect man alive”. David is also survived by his sister Elizabeth and her husband Alan of Orange Park, Florida, many special nieces and nephews and a special great-nephew Jacob, who was the apple of David’s eye. Through David’s years battling cancer, he and his wife were also blessed to have the Hospice Care of Eastern Maine become part of their family.
Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of life on Saturday, February 27th at 3 p.m. at 24 Kingsbury Road in Holden, Maine.
