Acting troupes from Maine high schools held regional competitions Friday and Saturday, with the winners moving on to the state finals in two weeks.

Class A regional winners of the Maine Drama Festival included Oceanside High School with its performance of “All in Disguise.” Oceanside, based in Rockland, won at the one-act play competition held at Oceanside, according to a news release from Maine Drama Festival coordinator Rick Ash.

Falmouth won with “Ring Around the Moon” at the regionals held at Thornton Academy in Saco.

Bonny Eagle of Standish won with its performance of “Free Will” at the regionals held at Marshwood High School in South Berwick.

Waterville won with “The Game’s Afoot” at the regionals held at Skowhegan.

Oxford Hills of South Paris won the regionals held at Windham with its performance of “Drop Dead, Juliet.”

Regionals also were held at Lawrence and Westbrook but results were not immediately available.

Class B winners were Ellsworth with its performance of “Bound” at the regionals held at Mt. Desert Island.

Lincoln Academy won with “Beauty” held at the regional at Oceanside.

Baxter Academy of Portland won with “How to Survive a Horror Movie” at regionals held at Marshwood.

Lee Academy won with “The Other Room” at the regionals held at Stearns.

MCI won with “These Shining Lives” at regionals held at Skowhegan.

Foxcroft Academy won with “Cheating Death” held at the regionals held at Stearns.

Freeport won with “Out of the Machinery” held at the regionals in Windham.

Mount Desert won with “The Other Shore” at the regionals held at its school.

Regional winners will go on to the state finals, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. Class A finals will be held at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport and Class B at Stearns High School in Millinocket.
