COPLIN, Maine — An Eliot man is facing multiple charges after allegedly entering a Carrabassett Road home late Tuesday and picking a fight with homeowners, sheriff’s deputies said.

The series of events leading to the arrest of Garrett Morrow, 25, started around 10:30 p.m., when a homeowner called police stating there was an issue with an allegedly drunk man they were not familiar with, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols said.

As officers were en route, they were informed Morrow had entered the residence and a fight had ensued, Nichols said. A woman told Morrow to leave when he arrived at the residence, suspected to be intoxicated, and Morrow entered the house via the garage, Nichols said.

The woman’s husband subsequently intervened, but he allegedly was knocked to the living room floor and was kicked by Morrow as a result. The man’s wife then yelled for Morrow to stop, upon which she also was knocked to the floor. Morrow also allegedly tried to grab the woman around the neck but stopped and went back outside, when deputies and the Border Patrol were arriving.

Morrow refused to cooperate with officers’ commands, and a Taser was required to subdue him, Nichols said.

Morrow was charged with burglary, refusing to submit to arrest and two counts of assault, Nichols said. The male victim suffered cuts to his forehead, ear and wrist and was treated at the scene by Northstar Ambulance.
