BRUNSWICK, Maine — Police continue to investigate a single-vehicle crash that left a woman with serious injuries Thursday afternoon on Route 1.
Just before 4:30 p.m., police and firefighters went to Route 1 southbound between West Bath and Cooks Corner after a silver 2011 Kia Forte crashed and came to rest against an oak tree in the median of the highway, according to a release from Brunswick police Lt. Thomas Garrepy.
Firefighters extricated the woman, whose name was not released because police have not yet confirmed her identity. She was taken to Maine Medical Center with what Garrepy described as potentially life-threatening injuries.
Her condition was not available Thursday evening.
