Caitlin Tycz, swimming for the Long Reach Swim Club of Bath, established state and meet records in the 200 individual medley during the YMCA championships last weekend at the University of Maine’s Wallace Pool in Orono.

Tycz finished in 2 minutes, 5.5 seconds, which was four seconds under the previous mark.

In the 100 butterfly, Tycz, who set state and meet records at the high school championships in February, added to her record-setting efforts with a Y meet record of 54.1, nipping her previous record of 54.

Club teammate Ann Tolan hit 51.1 in the 100 freestyle to establish state and meet records. Earlier in the meet, Tolan clocked a 23.3 for a 50 free meet record, eclipsing the mark set in 2013 of 24.1 by Celia Ouellette. Tolan was also named the Performer of the Meet during the Class B high school state swim championships while competing for Morse of Bath in February.

Mount Desert’s Liam Sullivan, competing in the 100 backstroke, finished at 56.2, a meet record at the Y championships. And Canoe City Swim Club’s Colby Prouty, who raced for Bangor High during the high school season and set a Maine high school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, swam to a Y meet record of 58.36 in the same event.

The Long Reach Swim Club of the Bath YMCA tallied 2,576 points in the combined team scores for the win. The club also won the women’s and the men’s team scoring with 1238.5 and 1337.5, respectively.
