CARIBOU, Maine — A low-pressure system is expected to bring freezing rain and light snow to northern and western parts of the state late Monday and into Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported.

While only an inch of powder was expected, the weather service has posted a winter weather advisory effective Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The combination of the precipitation is expected to make driving conditions hazardous.

In addition to light snow, a trace of ice can be expected in some spots.
