ALFRED, Maine — A Saco man will spend 15 years in prison for raping and strangling a woman in November 2013.
Nicholas Gagne, 24, was sentenced Friday to 22 years, with all but 15 years suspended and six years probation, according to York County Deputy District Attorney Justina McGettigan.
Gagne was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of gross sexual assault, one charge of domestic violence terrorizing and two charges of domestic violence assault in February.
Gagne’s history of controlling behavior was noted when the sentence was handed down.
