SACO, Maine — Firefighters responded to a fire at 14 Gooch St. in a vacant mill building Tuesday morning.

Officials said it started around 6 a.m. Crews dealt with fire on multiple floors.

Saco fire officials said one firefighter was taken to the hospital after experiencing cardiac symptoms. He is expected to be OK.

Investigators said size of the vacant Saco mill made getting the fire under control a challenge, but they said it could have been worse.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
