STARKS, Maine — A Madison man is facing multiple charges in connection with multiple burglaries and thefts in Starks in December, according to police.
Michael Nichols, 27, was arrested on March 16, according to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster, and is facing five burglary charges and seven counts of theft.
Sheriff’s deputies had responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Dec. 19 after residents had interrupted Nichols allegedly burglarizing a neighbor’s garage.
Among the items taken included vehicle batteries, two televisions, fishing equipment, kayaks, boat motors, tools, household items, tractor-trailer batteries, several cans of gas, a chain saw and firearm, clothing and electronics, Lancaster said. The alleged incidents occurred at residences on Peterson, Dill, Locke Hill, Redneck and Mayhew Roads, the sheriff said.
Nichols is being held on $2,500 unsecured bond at the Somerset County Jail and will appear in court on April 27.
