BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man pleaded guilty to maintaining a drug-involved premises during a hearing Monday in U.S. District Court.

Daniel Lyons , 42, was among five people arrested in September 2015 in connection with a heroin trafficking operation being conducted at the home on Essex Street he shared with his wife, Laura Lyons, who also was arrested along with Dionhaywood Blackwell, 31, of New Haven, Connecticut, and Vincent Berube, 50, and William E. Berube, 48, both of Baileyville.

Court records indicated that Daniel Lyons allowed heroin to be stored and sold from the home on a daily basis in exchange for heroin.

On Sept. 10, Bangor police and agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at the Lyonses’ home. Agents seized 30 grams of heroin, $12,000 in cash and a sawed-off shotgun, the MDEA said at the time.

Blackwell was indicted in November by the Penobscot County grand jury on six counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, two counts of criminal forfeiture of a firearm and one count of criminal forfeiture of U.S. currency.

Both Berubes were indicted in November on one count each of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of drugs.

Lyons faces up to 20 years in prison, a $500,000 fine and three years of supervised release.

A date for his sentencing has yet to be set.

The case was investigated by the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration and the MDEA.
