ORRINGTON, Maine — A home on Hobbs Road was damaged by an early morning fire Monday, according to the Orrington fire chief.
Crews from five towns were called to the two-story residence around 1:36 a.m. Monday, according to Orrington fire Chief Michael Spencer.
Firefighters arrived to find fire in a room on the second floor, and quickly got the blaze out before it could spread, confining damage to the second floor, Spencer said.
The homeowners had escaped without injury and the home had a working smoke detector, Spencer said.
There was heavy smoke damage on the second floor but it is repairable, Spencer said. He added the fire is believed to be electrical, and the state fire marshal’s office will aid in the investigation.
Crews from Orrington, Brewer, Eddington, Holden and Dedham responded.
