BANGOR, Maine — Joey Murphy recorded two hits and two RBIs to lead the St. Joseph’s College Monks to a 5-2 baseball victory over the Husson University Eagles Thursday at the Winkin Complex.

Taylor Reuillard chipped in with three singles and an RBI for the Monks of Standish (7-7) while Brett Barbati added two doubles and an RBI. Nick Lops contributed with two singles and an RBI.

Josh Partridge (2-0) scattered eight hits and two runs over seven innings to record the win. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out 11. Relievers Grayson Jennings and Corey McNamara each followed with a scoreless inning with McNamara picking up his second save.

J.T. Whitten sparked Husson (6-7) with two hits and an RBI. Andrew Curran added three hits while Sam Huston had a double and a single. Ryan Rebar had an RBI single.

Husson scored both of its runs in the first inning but the Monks answered with a run in the third and two each in the sixth and seventh.

Lops hit an RBI single and Barbati added a sacrifice fly in the sixth while Murphy and Reuillard each hit run-producing singles in the seventh.

McDaniel 16, UMPI 2

At Westminster, Maryland, Michael Gallagher doubled twice and drove in four runs in McDaniel College’s 20-hit attack en route to the win over the University of Maine-Presque Isle.

Chris Morris and Nick Valori chipped in with two RBIs apiece for McDaniel (19-1).

Matt Cauchon singled twice for UMPI (6-15) while Ryan Sanderson and Tommy Collins each drove in a run.

Colby 7, UMF 6

At Coombs Field in Waterville, Colby recorded the win over the University of Maine-Farmington in the first game on the Colby’s new synthetic turf field.

The game with the Beavers was supposed to be played this Monday, but the coaches decided to move the date because of a cold weather forecast for Monday.

Colby pinch-hitter Matt Garcia singled to right field to score Andrew Currier in the bottom of the eighth inning for the winning run.

Currier finished the day with two hits, two runs, and an RBI for Colby (4-8). Blake Egan also had two hits and drove in a run, while Ryan Quinn scored twice and had a hit.

Ben Keene and Riley Chickering each had two hits, one run, and an RBI for the Beavers (8-4). Grayson Beressi also had two hits and scored a run.
