ORONO, Maine — The University of Maine baseball and softball teams have made changes in their weekend schedules with a forecast of low temperatures and snow showers on Sunday.
The baseball team will now play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday against the New York Institute of Technology at Mahaney Diamond.
Friday’s games begin at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday’s at 1 p.m.
UMaine’s softball games against America East foe UMass Lowell also will be played on Friday and Saturday at Kessock Field. A single game is set for 3 p.m. Friday, followed by a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
Children under age 17 receive free admission to the baseball games, and there is no admission charge to the softball games.
UMaine’s softball doubleheader against Bryant University in Orono also was postponed because of field conditions. No makeup date has been announced.
