CORINTH, Maine — A local man died Saturday night on Hudson Road after his Honda Accord was hit by a pickup truck towing an empty horse trailer, Maine State Police Trooper Chris Hashey said Sunday.
Shane Brown, 54, died at the scene of the 6 p.m. collision that occurred at the junction of Hudson and Puddledock roads, Hashey said. Brown was driving east on Hudson Road, and Alicia Himes, 19, of Orrington was driving south on Puddledock Road, which has a stop sign at its junction with Hudson Road, the trooper said.
“The pickup truck sideswiped the Honda Accord,” Hashey said. “The driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Neither Himes nor her 19-year-old male passenger from Skowhegan were injured in the collision that destroyed both vehicles.
“Whether they stopped and proceeded or never stopped at all” is part of the ongoing investigation, Hashey said, adding the reconstruction team is investigating the crash. “The driver hasn’t been charged at this point. It’s still under investigation.”
