BATH, Maine — A 25-year-old Bath man wanted by police for allegedly sexual abusing a 15-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday night in City Park after allegedly assaulting a man who spoke to the teen.

Randy Brewer was held without bail at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on Tuesday after allegedly violating bail on a previous unrelated charge, Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said.

On Monday, police had issued a warrant for Brewer’s arrest following an investigation begun by Morse High School school resource officer Chuck Reece, according to Savary. Police allege Brewer had a sexual relationship with the teen. Because of her age and the age difference between them, Brewer faces a misdemeanor charge of sexual abuse of a minor.

Police went to City Park on Washington Street just before 9 p.m. Tuesday after Brewer allegedly assaulted and terrorized a 19-year-old man who had spoken to the teen previously. The man did not require medical treatment, Savary said.

A court date was not immediately available on Wednesday.
