BANGOR, Maine — City police are seeking the public’s help in locating a woman accused of taking a substantial amount of cash from Governor’s Restaurant earlier this month.

The theft occurred around 10:45 p.m. May 7, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page written by Sgt. Tim Cotton.

“Take your eyes off all those carbs and try to remember where you saw this woman last,” Cotton wrote.

The woman walked behind the counter in the restaurant’s lobby and removed a substantial amount of cash from the register while a clerk was not looking, Cotton said.

Officer Brandon Sperrey is investigating the case. Anyone with information is urged to Sperrey an email at brandon.sperrey@bangormaine.gov or call 947-7384 and use option 6 to leave an anonymous tip.
