WOOLWICH, Maine — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a young man with a medical condition who was last seen more than a week ago, Sheriff Joel Merry of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office said in a Thursday statement.
Benjamin Fisher, 20, of Tallman Road in Woolwich left his house on May 23 to go to work at Staples in Brunswick, but he never arrived, the sheriff said.
“Benjamin has been missing since May 23, and no one has had contact with him since May 24,” Merry said. “He does have a medical condition that requires regular attention, so there is definite concern for his safety and well-being.”
The sheriff did not disclose the nature of Fisher’s medical condition, but he did say it requires routine maintenance. Fisher’s name and information have been entered into the national missing person’s information system.
Fisher was last seen at a Ward Road residence in Brunswick, and police believe he may have headed toward Portland. He sent a text on May 24, and since then, his phone has been turned off.
“On June 1, 2016, he may have been at Shaw’s in Bath based upon a potential sighting,” Merry said, adding that Fisher does not have a vehicle or a driver’s license.
Those with information about Fisher’s whereabouts can call the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office at 443-9711.
