WINTERPORT, Maine — A 19-year-old man driving a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a truck early Wednesday and was seriously injured, Stephen McCausland, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman said Thursday.
“Just before 8 a.m. at the junction of the Back Winterport Road and the Cove Road in Winterport, there was a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup [truck],” McCausland said.
The motorcycle driver, Tyler Tran, 19, no address given, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, he said.
Tran was listed in critical condition at noon Thursday, a hospital spokesman said.
Tran played football for the Belfast Lions, according to Bangor Daily News archives.
The investigation into how the vehicles collided is ongoing, and no other details about the crash were available, McCausland said.
Trooper Jeffery Parks is handling the investigation for the Maine State Police.
