SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Two men were arrested Thursday as the result of an undercover “john” operation that South Portland police conducted at a hotel near the Maine Mall, Detective Stephen Webster said in a news release.
Cale Grant, 29, of South Portland and Jason Blanco, 38, of Scarborough were each arrested and charged with engaging a prostitute, a Class E crime.
Grant’s bail was set at $160 and bail for Grant was set at $60, Webster said.
The detective said that members of the South Portland Police Department, working in conjunction with representatives from neighboring police agencies, conducted an undercover operation about 1 p.m. Thursday at the hotel.
Other participating agencies included the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Windham Police Department, the Maine State Police and members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
