HANCOCK, Maine — Five people have been arrested in connection with the sale of methamphetamine in Hancock County, according to state police.

Dominique Torrey, 22, of Otis; Matthew Peasley, 28, of Otis; Jennifer Thurston, 24, of Tremont; Shannon Nicholson, 45, of Tremont; and Loren Wayne Spurling, 25, of Tremont were arrested, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

All five suspects are facing a Class B felony charge of unlawful operation of a meth lab, and Torrey is also accused of trafficking in meth, McCausland said.

Drug agents suspected illegal activity was going on at a Hancock mobile home off Old County Road, McCausland said, and the five suspects were arrested at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

All five were taken to the Hancock County Jail. Once a search warrant is signed, drug agents will search the mobile home, McCausland said.

Hancock County sheriff’s deputies and Ellsworth police are assisting MDEA agents in the investigation.
