VASSALBORO, Maine — A truck driver escaped injury Thursday afternoon after his rig and trailer overturned on Route 3, according to Kennebec County Sheriff Ryan Reardon.
Jason Glick, 36, of Montville was hauling three large steel beams approximately 20 feet in length, Reardon said.
Preliminary investigative efforts have indicated the trailer had some sort of brake malfunction that caused the truck and trailer to jackknife, Reardon said.
The truck and trailer slid sideways down a hill, overturning and spilling its load, the sheriff said. It was expected that the road would be cleared shortly after 4 p.m.
Glick was not injured and deputies are evaluating possible charges. Reardon said the crash could have been worse given the amount of summer traffic that travels Route 3 daily.
