Former Boston Bruins star Ray Bourque was arrested on a drunken driving charge, stemming from a two-vehicle accident late Friday night.
Bourque, 55, was driving a Mercedes SUV and struck a minivan around 11:30 p.m., according to police in Andover, Massachusetts. No injuries were reported after the crash in Andover, located about 25 miles north of Boston.
The Hockey Hall of Famer was charged with operating under the influence. He posted bail and was released.
Bourque is slated for arraignment on Monday.
Bourque played 22 NHL seasons — more than 20 of them for the Bruins — and is a five-time winner of the Norris Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top defenseman.
He played his final one-plus season for the Colorado Avalanche.
Bourque is currently a consultant to the Bruins’ coaching staff.
