LEBANON, Maine — A woman went into cardiac arrest and died Wednesday night shortly after being freed from her overturned vehicle, state police said.

Gloria Dubois, 65, of North Berwick had lost control of her vehicle after entering a driveway on Little River Road in Lebanon around 9:30 p.m., Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

The vehicle struck a fence and a tree before overturning and trapping Dubois, McCausland said.

She was alert upon arrival of medical personnel but went into cardiac arrest shortly after being freed and could not be revived.

It’s possible Dubois may have been suffering from a medical condition before the crash, McCausland said.

The crash remains under investigation.
