BANGOR, Maine — A man who was shot last month in a confrontation at the home of a woman who had a protection order against him was arrested Monday by Maine State Police, according to Penobscot District Attorney R. Christopher Almy.

Christian Tattan, 42, of Glenburn is charged with burglary, a Class B crime, aggravated criminal mischief, a Class C crime, and violation of a protection order, a Class D crime, Almy said late Monday afternoon.

Tattan was arrested in Carmel, the prosecutor said.

Information about where he had been living and when he was released from Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor was not available late Monday afternoon.

Tattan was shot early on Sunday, June 12, in Eddington, according to a previously published report. Details about what led to the shooting have not been released by investigators.

He was barred from contacting or visiting the home of Renee Lee, 39, who received a two-year protection from abuse order against him on Aug. 19, 2015. The complaint filed at the Penobscot Judicial Center requesting the order accuses Tattan of abusive and threatening behavior.

Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Lee’s home on Hill St. about 6 a.m. on June 12 after a shooting was reported and found Tattan bleeding. The investigation was turned over to the Maine State Police because the injuries from the shooting were serious enough they could result in death, Lt. Troy Gardner of the state police said last month.

Tattan has a criminal history that includes convictions for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, according to Bangor Daily News archives.

Tattan remained at Penobscot County Jail on Monday night. His bail has been set at $1,000 cash.
