ALFRED, Maine — Maine State Police are asking the public to provide information on a hit-and-run in Alfred on Tuesday.

Police said a trooper was dispatched to Swetts Bridge Road around 5:50 p.m. for a report of a parked car being struck.

The owner of the car told the trooper that a large, black SUV, similar to a Suburban, struck his unoccupied parked car and pushed it into the river. The black SUV then left the scene, according to police.

Authorities believe there should be damage to the front of the SUV.

Anyone with information should call 207-657-3030 and ask for Trooper Benjamin Smith of Troop A.
