BRUNSWICK, Maine — Northbound traffic on routes 201 and 24 between Brunswick and Topsham will be detoured Monday and Tuesday during a scheduled inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge over the Androscoggin River.

The bridge, connecting Main Street in Topsham to Maine Street in Brunswick, will remain open to southbound traffic both days, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.

During daytime hours only, northbound traffic will be redirected to Route 1 north and Route 196.

The inspection follows a routine inspection in June that prompted a closer inspection, according to the Department of Transportation.

The bridge is scheduled for a repair or replacement in the summer 2018, and it will be funded by state and federal dollars, according to the Department of Transportation.
