BERWICK, Maine — Officials are investigating a fire on River Street that claimed the life of a man.
The fire was reported at 2:00 a.m. Monday, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
The victim is believed to be the homeowner, and his body will be examined by the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
