BANGOR, Maine — A Fort Kent man was flown to a Bangor hospital after he was ejected from his car early Sunday morning during a rollover crash on Route 11 in Wallagrass.

Thomas Levesque, 24, was traveling north on Route 11, also known as Aroostook Road, shortly after 1 a.m. when he lost control of his 2004 Subaru Legacy, Cpl. Chuck Michaud of the Maine State Police said Sunday afternoon in a news release.

The Subaru left the roadway and then went into a ditch, causing it to roll over, Michaud said. Levesque was ejected from the vehicle before it came to a rest on its roof. He was found lying in the roadway.

Levesque initially was taken to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent but later was airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

Michaud said speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

State police were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Fort Kent Fire Department and Maine Warden Service.
