BANGOR, Maine — A Brewer man pleaded guilty Friday to a charge of being a felon in possession of firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Walter Botelho, 52, will be sentenced at a later date and faces up to 10 years in prison.
Botelho pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court.
Botelho, who was previously convicted of first-degree manslaughter in New York, was found to be in possession of firearms as police searched his residence on May 2.
Two rifles and a pair of shotguns were found in the residence.
In addition to jail time, Botelho also faces a fine of $250,000 and three years of supervised release.
