HAMPDEN, Maine — A Hampden-based food service distributor plans to expand its warehouse and hire up to 75 new workers over the next five years.
“We’re excited to expand our capacity,” Ron Dennis, president of Dennis Paper and Food Service, said in a news release. “Our new warehouse will mean more inventory to meet the growing demands of our diverse customers. Plus, we’ll — again — add new members to our team.”
The company distributes food and disposable paper products — plates, cups, paper towels — across the state.
The 30,000-square-foot warehouse expansion will include space for frozen, refrigerated and dry-product storage, as well as a test kitchen and office space and a meeting center for new staff.
The 108-year-old company has grown over the past decade, adding about 120 positions since 2002. The company expanded its Hampden warehouse once already in 2012.
Dennis currently has about 140 employees, and in 2015 he sold the company to its employees through a stock ownership program.
