MILFORD, Maine — Four Milford residents have been arrested on felony crack cocaine and fentanyl trafficking charges.

The arrests stem from investigations into the importation of deadly heroin and fentanyl into Maine, according to a news release issued Wednesday by Cmdr. Peter Arno of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

All four were charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs: Shaina Tibbets, 27, with three counts; Daniel Rogerson, 32, and Albert Fairbrother, 31, with two counts each; and Chad St. Pierre, 39, with one count.

Tibbets, Rogerson, Fairbrother and St. Pierre were arrested on Sept. 28 after agents with the MDEA’s Bangor-based North Central Task Force, along with Penobscot County sheriff’s deputies and Maine State Police troopers, searched a home at 209 Main Road in Milford and seized about 10 grams of what agents believe to be fentanyl, 28 grams of crack cocaine and $1,500 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the release. The street value of the drugs has been estimated at $5,000.

The search warrant was obtained after several weeks of investigation that included the undercover purchase of suspected fentanyl, which is the dangerous drug connected to dozens of overdose deaths in Maine this year.

Each count is a Class A felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000, according to Arno, who added that the charges were elevated because a 3-year-old child was present during the undercover drug transactions.

The child has been turned over to the custody of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Arno reported.

Tibbets, Rogerson, Fairbrother and St. Pierre were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. As of late Wednesday afternoon, only Fairbrother had bailed out.

Arno said that the MDEA also was assisted by members of the Old Town Police Department. He said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
