SIDNEY, Maine — A local woman was injured Monday morning when her car overturned five times off West River Road in Sidney, police said.

Jordan Agger, 20, was driving north just before 11 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, Cpl. Diane Vance of the Maine State Police said. Agger’s car skidded off the road and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels 30 to 40 yards down a steep embankment. Agger was wearing her seat belt and the vehicle’s air bags deployed.

Agger had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with unknown injuries. The medical chopper landed in a field behind a nearby church.

Vance said speed is a factor in the crash and the cause remains under investigation. Sidney Fire and Rescue and Delta Ambulance personnel assisted at the crash site.
