BANGOR – The Husson University field hockey team defeated Colby-Sawyer College 5-3 in a North Atlantic Conference East semifinal field hockey match at the Winkin Complex in Bangor Wednesday.

Husson (8-6) broke out to a 3-0 lead at halftime behind two goals from Taylor Shaw and one from Lauren Russell. Russell would add another in the second half while Sadie Royer contributed a goal. Erika Brochu added two assists. Anne-Marie Provencal made one save.

Jordan Teixeria, Allie Jones and Sierra Schuster had the goals for 11-6 Colby-Sawyer.

Husson travels to the University of Maine-Farmington for Saturday’s league championship game.

UMF 4, Thomas 0

At Farmington, four different Beavers scored a goal as they defeated Thomas in a NAC semifinal.

Emma Marineau, Nickyia Lovely, Emmah Spahr and Jenessa Talarico had the goals for the 11-4 Beavers. Patty Smith had one save.

Abbie Charrier made 10 saves for 4-12 Thomas College of Waterville.
